Yamaha Introduces the New 2013 FJR1300AS

While we're not huge fans of sport-touring bikes, we didn't even blink during Yamaha's video introduction of their new flagship tourer, the FJR1300AS. Its it cooler than the FJR1300A? Thousandfold, we'd say... including the exclusive hard candy-like bronze jaw-dropping color.

The presentation of the new FJR includes the key elements, and we're only bringing up those which appealed to us the most, since we just know you'll be playing this video again as it reaches the end... several times, just like we here did.

A nice, high-performance addition to the touring game is the separate function fork, with compression damping in the left tube and rebound control function in the right one, pretty much like the racing-derived forks of the YZF-R1 machines work like this year.

Some might say there's a bit too much CC (Chip Control) in the 2013 Yamaha FRJ1300AS, and might be true, but given the progress in electronics, we believe there's more to enjoy than to fear in this bike.

Another thing we really loved about the 2013 FRJ1300AS was its incredible adjustability, from the electronically-adjustable 12-step suspensions, to the redesigned fairing and handlebars to the side panels and two-piece seat.

This means a deep concern for the comfort of as many riders as possible, with a bullseye shot at top sales. It matters less if one is tall enough or too heavy or off the ideal chart in any way: the 2013 Yamaha FRJ1300AS has what it needs for becoming a comfortable touring machine for everyone! Happy sigh... but we'll be back with more.
