BMW shows the 2014 version of their acclaimed and long-running RT series. The 2014 R1200RT is obviously powered by the liquid-cooled new boxer engine first showcased with the GS bikes, and is loaded with tons of features aimed to make your motorcycle vacations even better.

The 2014 R1200RT brings Rain and Road riding modes, with Automatic Stability Control as standard and the Pro mode with “Dynamic” riding mode and Hill Start Control as an option. Optional are the electronic suspensions (Dynamic ESA) and the LED daytime running lights. I kind of expected the latter to be standard, but it looks like I was wrong.

A new bodywork envelops the new continuous frame and together they provide better comfort and wind protection, BMW says. The dash looks really sweet and crisp, with a color 5.7" TFT display and nice, easy-to-read gauges and other LCD elements.

Moving the whole cruiser, the boxer mill produces 92 kW (125 hp) at 7,750 rpm with a maximum torque of 125 Nm (92 ft-lb) at 6,500 rpm.

The new R1200RT come in Quartz blue metallic and Callisto grey metallic matte, combined with the contrasting color Dark slate metallic matte. A third color option is the Ebony metallic with Monolith metallic matte.

Prices to follow soon.
